............Most people are unaware of this: On occasion you'll see windows, trim, or doors that appear warped or pulling apart. If they are not rotten, most likely they are PVC or Vinyl. When painted they look very similar to Wood. The reason for warping is the heat absorption from the Sun shining directly on a dark painted surface. Light painted colors don't have the heat absorption that dark paint colors do. With so many windows and trim sections being replaced today or installed during new construction, the odds are rot proof materials were used. Painting Contractors can't determine and most don't think to determine whether there is Wood or PVC products installed. Sherwin Williams is the only company that I'm aware of that sells a UV reflective paint. So next time you have your home painted a dark color, heed this warning or your home may have some warped features.
